I have to admit, every part of this wedding left me in awe, starting with the groom entering the ceremony on a white horse to the epic dance party I wish I could have been a part of. This wedding is unlike anything you’ve ever seen! It was inspired by the world of Narnia but was infused with eastern and western traditions that came together perfectly to celebrate Stephanie and Amrish’s wedding day. Get ready for a colorful dose of floral centerpieces, hair wreaths, and bridal makeup inspiration.

The couple met in a prayer group while attending Oklahoma City University. But it wasn’t until Amrish had graduated that they started to become good friends. One evening after service they started writing a song together and that was when the sparks started to fly! It was through the process of writing that song, A Hope and a Future, that the couple started dating and fell in love.

When it came to the wedding theme, Stephanie says they wanted to find a confluence between regal and elegant but still include earthy and woodsy elements, which is how they came up with a Narnia inspired wedding. “My husband’s family is of Indian descent, so the colors of India also influenced how we designed the décor. We basically just drew from the wellspring of our own personalities and histories to make it happen,” said Stephanie.

Finding the perfect dress

“I knew from the beginning I wanted something with a lot of lace, and I have always loved that Audrey Hepburn-styled neckline. This was the very first wedding dress I tried on and absolutely loved it. Every other dress I tried on after it paled in comparison, and I tried on a lot of dresses!” Stephanie felt like elegant and romantic woodland princess in Style 8714 .

Most Memorable Wedding Moment

“Oh my, where to start! I had imagined the whole day would feel like one big exciting blur, but in actuality every moment was crystal clear and so sweet that it’s difficult to pick just one moment as my favorite. I’d say that one of the most magical moments for me was when I started walking down the aisle with my dad and I saw this sea of people who we knew and loved and had come to celebrate us. Then I saw the love of my life standing at the end, surrounded by our dearest friends and our families on the front row. And in that moment I remembered just how much love there is in this world, and how thankful I am that God has placed so many amazing people in our lives” Stephanie.

Valuable Bridal Tip

Stephanie encourages all couples to “ have as much fun as you can! From day one of planning, make it a point to practice dealing with stress if it comes up and keeping it as far from you as possible. Treat yourself a lot during the planning process and give yourself lots of breaks. Get as tight as you can with your girl friends and family members during this time. Their support is so nourishing and necessary, especially during wedding week!”
