Once you fall in love with a wedding gown online the next step is to book an appointment with a bridal salon. And while you've seen your fair amount of wedding dress shopping reality TV shows and feel confident about the whole process we went straight to the experts to help you prep for your upcoming bridal shopping experience. Joy and Mark from Mia Sposa in Newcastle UK shared these tips with us:
Rule #1 when wedding dress shopping
We find that Brides who come with a lot of family or friends have difficulties in making a decision on the dress. However tempting it may be to have all of your loved ones there to help, we would recommend a couple of people at the most. What usually ends up happening is that the brides become confused with the differing opinions from the group and it makes the whole process much more difficult. You can always wait until your fitting day to bring as many people as you wish to see your dress.
It's what is under that counts
Undergarments can make an incredible difference to the overall look of your dress. A well fitting bra or bustier can truly enhance the bust line and help to give a smoother look. As there are a lot of backless or low back styles around at the moment we also offer our brides the option to have additional bust pads fitted into their dress so they don't have to worry about straps showing. When a bride has a fitted style dress, particularly if it is in a satin or slipper satin, it is important to watch for any visible knicker lines – a seam free option is a must for these styles.
