Inspired by this year's Met Gala, we chose our top picks from Justin Alexander Signature that encompass this year’s dress code, The Garden of Time.

At the Justin Alexander Group, we love all things fashion and were excited to see what designs would grace the iconic steps of this year’s Met Gala. Last week introduced the theme Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, celebrating over 400 years of fashion history, featuring designs by Schiaparelli, Dior and Givenchy.

The dress code was Garden of Time, inspired by J.G Ballard’s book of the same name. With a nod to the natural world, we were treated to some utterly fabulous designs, drawn from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection, rarely seen in public before.

Amongst this year’s hosts, Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez both showcased their impeccable style. First-time co-chair of the Met Gala, Zendaya, wowed in two outfits, with the first giving off fairytale villain vibes, in an incredible Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano creation. Later she appeared wearing a magnificent black, corseted gown, with off the shoulder, puff sleeves. With a huge skirt, that engulfed the entire steps of the Met’s staircase, Zendaya completed the Garden of Time look with a vintage bouquet-themed fascinator, designed by Philip Treacy for Alexander McQueen in 2006.

Jennifer Lopez appeared in a stunning, crystal encrusted translucent gown by Schiaparelli. The custom haute couture piece was made with over 2.5 million silver foil bugles and beads and took over 800 hours of hand embroidery to create.

The Met Gala is truly a celebration of fashion like no other, where the limits of possibility are endless, and the creations of designers come to life on a surreal-like catwalk. We have picked a few of our own Justin Alexander Signature designs which encompass the Garden of Time dress code, with gorgeous 3D flower details and dramatic trains. Which is your favorite?
