Rachel and Rory met in a crowded nightclub in the southside of Glasgow, and who would ever think that meeting there would lead to a romantic wedding? “I remember walking past him on the way to the bar and he smiled at me and we never looked back.” -Rachel Hamilton

Finding the Dress

I saw Style 8695 in the first wedding magazine I had purchased. I knew it was the one as soon as I saw it. It was exactly what I was looking for. However unfortunately nobody in Scotland stocked that particular dress. So I put it out of my head and I then went to a couple of appointments elsewhere but I couldn't forget it. I called Wedding Wise who I knew were a Justin Alexander stockist and explained the predicament to Elaine. She could not have been more helpful and explained she could order a sample into her shop. When I went to try it on I was nervous in case it didn't live up to how I thought it would be in my head but once I tried it on I knew it was totally me. I really wanted to have the lace sleeves but also loved the satin skirt and sweetheart neckline. It was perfect! It felt so comfortable as well. When my actual wedding dress arrived I didn't need a single alteration.

Favorite Part of Your Wedding Day

The most memorable moment for me was walking into the church and seeing Rory beaming. It was quite a long aisle but I loved that because it allowed me to savour the moment and feel all the love and happiness around me.

Finding the Perfect Wedding Theme

Their royal-like wedding came about by wanting to create a classic winter wedding theme. They started by saying their “I do’s” in the spectacular church at Glasgow University where Rachel had studied. And then traveled to Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond for our wedding reception. For their elegant affair, Rachel chose neutral tones to maintain a classic elegance feel in the decor. The table center pieces were cream trees, decorated with lights, roses, pearls, and bows. Delicate paper butterflies were placed on the whimsical trees for the guests to write the couple messages rather than having a guest book.

Bridal Advice

It’s important to enjoy the whole wedding process and not be stressed by it. Life is way too short so just enjoy it. And enjoy having the people you love most around you. Just remember that nobody will know if something isn't exactly as you had planned.
