How did you and your husband meet?

In the fall of 2017, we matched on not one, but two dating sites simultaneously, which would lead us to joke "maybe this is a sign of something good!" And we were right. Over the next few months, we spent our days texting non-stop, nights trying out new recipes, and weekends exploring Austin together. By New Year's Eve, we were head over heels in love.

I was attracted to the compassion and outlook Josh had on life and knew that he was the perfect companion to my crazy busy life.

Josh quickly realized that I was the type of partner he had always dreamed of. I was loving, thoughtful, supportive, and kind. I pushed him to try new things, travel to new places, and he fell even more in love with each new experience we shared.

What is your engagement story?

Almost a year to the day of the meeting, Josh proposed to me in our newly shared home. We were getting ready to go out with some friends and I came downstairs to "Adore" playing by Prince (my ultimate favorite singer) and a very nervous Josh, ring in hand. He stumbled through a speech he had ready and we cried then went out to celebrate!

What does marriage mean to you?

Well, my parents have been married for 40+ years so I see it as a true choice, a mark of dedication. Emotions, romance, and all of the frills wax and wane over time...it's the true dedication that lasts forever.

When and where was your wedding? How did you go about choosing the date and the place?

October 26th at Saddle Creek Weddings in Dripping Springs. We knew we wanted to get married as close to Halloween as possible! We couldn't have been more excited to get hitched in the most authentic way possible: a Hallowedding.

Tell us a special moment from your wedding date.

Entering into the ceremony and seeing all of my guests dressed up in Halloween costumes was incredibly surreal. I wish I could go back in time and do it all again!

Which Justin Alexander Signature bridal shop did you buy your dress from and what was your experience like?

RK Bridal in NYC. It was a dream! They set us up with a private back area and brought out literally all of the wedding gowns on my wishlist to try on. Of course, I bought my favorite - which was also the first one I tried on!

What was your wedding theme and what inspired you?

As long as I can remember, I have been called the Queen of Halloween--always taking it WAY too seriously, spending months crafting and hand-making my costumes. When I met Josh we instantly bonded over Halloween and last year we celebrated together in elaborate Beetlejuice and Lydia costumes. Plus, we got engaged near Halloween so getting married on that date felt right.
