As a bride, our red carpet is walking down the aisle. We are the starlet and the leading lady, and so it’s not surprising that award season looks tend to mirror the bridal trends that inspire us to create such beautiful works of art. From the ultra-glamorous to the old-hollywood vintage flair, we highlight some of this year’s favorite looks on the runway, and the gowns that follow the same trends.
Jeannie Mai
This year at the Globes, starlet Jeannie Mai went for a the look of the moment in a full-volume textured ball gown. Her glamorous and fashion-forward gown was striking and needed no accessories, just a fresh face and enthusiastic smile. Copy her look in Signature styles 9805 and 9864 and float down the aisle with a smile in your heart, knowing that you’ve already won.
Michelle Williams + Nicole Kidman
We love the cold-shoulder trend, and so does Hollywood. Both Michelle Williams and Nicole Kidman wowed us with off-the-shoulder gowns on the red carpet. Michelle’s vintage-inspired gown reminded us of one of our favorites from the Spring/Summer 2017 Lillian West collection, style 6455. Nicole opted for a more glam look with plenty of rhinestones and beading, just like Signature style 9829.
Simone Biles
Olympian Simone Biles traded in her leotard for a stunning grecian-inspired gown with a daring deep v gown with rhinestone detailing and plenty of gold flair. It reminded us of the opulent flair of Signature style 9855, made for the bold starlet who is used to winning the gold.
Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore always stuns on the runway. This year she rocked a stunning flutter-sleeve look to bring a slightly bohemian style to this radient gown. Our Justin Alexander style 8875 features a flutter sleeve and stunning open back. Plus a little extra glitz at the waist, for good measure.
Maise Williams
A simple column silhouette is elegant and timeless, and leaves an unsuspecting impact for its sheer simplicity. Maise Williams turned plenty of heads last night in her high-neck bright yellow gown. This look was built for simple yet powerful accessories, and helps balance glamour with comfort and grace. To copy this look on your wedding day, try Justin Alexander styles 8733 and 8866.
Tracee Ellis Ross
We loved the architecturel flair of Tracee Ellis Ross’s strapless dress. The intricate corestry and exposed boning combined with floral appliques and hand beading has that structured-yet-sexy appeal that has a strong and feminine appeal. Our Justin Alexander style 8900 brings that same beauty and strength we admire in our brides.
Gillian Anderson + Louise Roe
The best red carpet looks balance elegance with edginess, seduction with sophistication, glamour with grace. To achieve this juxtaposition flawlessly, a keyhole neckline offers just enough sex appeal to surprise without compromising your. Two of our favorite looks at the Globes this year were from Gillian Anderson and Louise Roe who clearly knew they key to killing it on the red carpet. We also can’t get enough of Louise’s cuffed sleeves! Both looks embody the sexy-sophisticate style of Lillian West style 6446, and from our upcoming Fall 2017 season, style 6500 (coming soon!).
Sienna Miller
Sienna Miller has long been a style muse of ours, with her effortlessly-chic, boho-glam style. At the Globes this year she went for a elegant yet edgey column gown with architectural cut-outs at the middriff. See how this gown takes shape down the aisle from our upcoming Lillian West collection, Style 6477(coming soon!).
Kristin Cavallari
Lace doesn’t always have to be romantic and flowy. Kristin Cavallari takes a page from our Spring 2017 trend book with the strategically-placed lace gown, using the lines and curves to create a structured pattern. Her dress featured a plunging neck and boddy-hugging silhoutte, Style 6425 and one from our upcoming Fall 2017 season, style 6492 embody this same boho-luxe look.
Kristen Wiig
For the bride (and leading lady) who craves a bold and whimsical dress, Kristen Wiig made an impact in this stunning gown that reflected her personality. Her stunning and sheer gown featured intricate laser-cut floral pattern, a high neck, and playful flutter sleeves. The boho-luxe look reminded us of style 9815 from our Signature collection, and style 6422 from Lillian West.
