Southern elegance was the theme when RCA Records Nashville’s Rachel Wammack wed Noah Purcell Saturday, Aug. 3, in an intimate ceremony officiated by Purcell’s father, Cliff Purcell in Wammack’s hometown of Muscle Shoals, AL.
Wammack worked with Terri Hilferty Product Director at Justin Alexander to create her “dream dress.” Kendra Scott provided Wammack’s earrings and bracelet as well as earrings for her five bridesmaids, and Lacey Campbell from Parlour 3 in Nashville styled Wammack’s glamourous up-do for the ceremony.
The wedding and reception were held at the Cypress Lakes Country Club. Florals were designed by David Christopher’s in Sheffield, AL, in colors of champagne, blush, and navy with an abundance of greenery. The décor included a customized, natural-statement floral arch with floor lanterns and romantic lighting in the trees lining the aisle.
And for the first dance, the couple chose “Feels Like Home.”
“We both come from very different versions of home, and when we met, we found home in each other,” Wammack said. “This song sums it up for us.”
Wammack and Purcell met 2 ½ years ago after Wammack moved to Nashville to pursue a career in the music industry after graduating from the University of North Alabama with a degree in professional writing. She took a job as a bartender to pay the bills while honing her skills as a songwriter. Wammack admits she wasn’t a great mixologist, but she did find her “happily ever after” with co-worker Purcell.
“We worked together and we became great friends,” she said. “I began to admire him because of his humor, work ethic, and respect for me. He took interest in me without it feeling like it was flirting, it was all just natural.”

Wammack’s autobiographical, debut single, “Damage,” was inspired by her time as a barkeep and demonstrates her talent for crafting introspective relatable lyrics. She recently released new music “Enough” and the deeply personal “Something People Say” to rave reviews including Music Row (“This lady continue to impress with every note she sings”) and HITS, which opined, “Like Tammy Wynette, Carole King, Grace Potter, or Adele, Wammack has the ability to take life by the throat and empathetically deliver the emotional truth in people’s crisis points.” Listen HERE.
Later this month, Wammack will be opening for Reba and in October she will be heading overseas as part of CMA’s “Introducing Nashville” series. The European and UK tour introduces foreign audiences to the format’s rising singer/songwriters with stops in Oslo, Stockholm, Berlin, Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, and more.

Picked as the only country artist on Entertainment Weekly’s “2019 Artists to Watch” list, Wammack has a deeply-rooted, classic sound influenced heavily by the rich musical history of her hometown. Her songs showcase a gifted musician with a confident, soulful soprano earning her early recognition including being named to Rolling Stone’s “10 Best County EPs of 2018” as well as Amazon and NPR’s lists of “Best Music of 2018.” She received “2019 Artist to Watch” acclaim from multiple outlets including AOL, Pandora, Music Row, Pop Culture, Sounds Like Nashville, and more. She was also selected for CMT’s “Next Women of Country” and Bobby Bones "Class of 2019.
