From the Bride
My husband and I met at a Friendsgiving while we were both in flight school in Pensacola, Florida, and I was immediately impressed with his humor and confidence. We are both military helicopter pilots, Brinton serving as a United States Marine and me in the Navy. During our first three years of dating, due to deployments and military exercises, we spent less than a year physically together. We proved we could brave the time and distance and Brinton proposed at another Friendsgiving, hosted by the same friends who held the event where we first met.
I took advantage of being home in Indiana for the holidays to shop for my dress with my mom and maid-of-honor. I remembered Sophia's Bridal because I had bought my prom dress there 10 years earlier. Walking in, my Lillian West dress was the first one I pulled. I was very hesitant because of how different the lace was, but ultimately the uniqueness and beautiful back are what drew me to the dress. I purchased my dress without a venue, theme, or even date for our wedding, but after the dress, everything else fell into place.
We decided to get married in La Jolla, California, just ten minutes north of our home in San Diego because we wanted to share the beauty of our city with our families and friends. We were married in the garden of the La Jolla Woman's Club, a historical site just steps from the beach. Our wonderful officiant was Molly, the same friend who had hosted the Friendsgiving’s where we met and were engaged. Our wedding day was more than I ever could have imagined; it was an incredible day truly filled with love and laughter. I was so happy with my dress choice, everyone commented on how the lace was like nothing they'd ever seen. The dress was comfortable, bustled easily, and photographed beautifully. My only regret is that I can't wear beautiful wedding dresses and throw a great wedding party every year!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
