From the very beginning of wedding planning, James and I talked about what was important to us for the big day, we both agreed that we wanted an intimate wedding that would help us stay focused on what the day was really all about. We decided there was no place better to exchange vows than at 10,540 ft in Telluride, Colorado with one of the most gorgeous backdrops in the San Juan Mountains with 30 of our closest friends and family.
With the venue chosen, I began shopping for my dress. I imagined a fitted lace dress that was the perfect balance of natural and elegance and that's exactly what I found. My dress was so easy to wear and fit my curves perfect, literally perfect...I had no alterations. We only added a bustle.
One of the hardest things was keeping my dress a secret from my husband. He was so excited to see what I was going to look like walking down the aisle. I will never forget the look on his face when he saw me for the first time and the way he took my hand and looked at me with tears in his eyes. It was such a surreal moment to be standing at the overlook surrounded by so much natural beauty and exchanging vows with the man I had been praying for my whole life with the wind sweeping my veil back and forth. This day was truly everything we had hoped for.
